On June 5, 2000, friends and family of Donna Fabrich Tapia gathered for the dedication of “Donna’s Corner,” an area of the Labor and Delivery staff lounge furnished in her memory. Fabrich Tapia, a labor and delivery nurse for thirty years at the BWH, passed away last year from cancer. Her family helped to establish this peaceful area in hopes that her former co-workers could take a break to relax and then return to work renewed by memories of Fabrich Tapia’s friendship to them and commitment to patient care. Pictured below are Robin Schmidlein, RN (left) and Lee Enright, RN putting their feet up in the newly furnished “Donna’s Corner.”
