eMAR Corner
There have been several new enhancements made to eMAR in recent months:
- eMAR Med Overview Screen: There is now the option to sort all medications (e.g. active, pending, inactive) in alphabetical order (ascending or descending) for the whole screen or by individual medication categories.
eMAR Med Overview Screen: A new category has been created on this screen called “Active Chemotherapy” to help differentiate the active chemo from the rest of the active non chemo medications.
Manual Patient Entry: Now, when nurses administer blood products, there will be the option to select “Blood Production Administration” as a reason.
Some enhancements are specific to chemotherapy:
eMAR Reports: When a chemotherapy IV is marked as “Administration Complete” or “Partial Infusion” the administration summary reports were displaying this as “Not Given.” The report should reflect what is in the administration history view which is “Administration Complete” or “Partial Infusion.” When a chemotherapy IV is marked as “Administration Complete” or “Partial infusion,” it will display as such on the following reports: Administration Summary, Transfer/Discharge, Today’s Administrations or Yesterday’s Administrations.
Consent Verification for Chemotherapy: Now there is an option for the user to select “QACT enrollment” when verifying the patients chemotherapy consent. The QACT enrollment option is located right above the “Other” option.
Chemotherapy Consent Verification: Now on the Consent Verification screen, the exception orders will state “Select ‘Detail’ for more information” to help guide the nurse to the details button.
Please feel free to use the Feedback button within eMAR to send us any feedback or other suggested changes.
