Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
This year’s celebration will take place Jan. 10, 8:30-10 am and Jan. 12, 12-1:30 p.m. in Carrie Hall. Both will feature a reading of the speech "I Have A Dream," remarks by COO Matt Van Vranken and VP of Human Resources Cheryl Locke, music by Angela Berryman-Simpson, and Martin Luther King, Jr. documentary footage. All are welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.
Department of Medicine’s First Annual Education Day
The Education Council of the Department of Medicine will host its first annual Education Celebration on Jan. 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater. The Department will take this opportunity to recognize its outstanding mentors and teachers. Daniel Lowenstein, MD, HMS Dean of Education will present the keynote address, "The Challenge Before Us: Training Physicians for the 21st Century." A reception honoring Daniel Federman, MD and Jan Shorey, MD, will follow.
Home Buying—Be an Informed Consumer
A two-part seminar will offer useful information for first-time buyers. Part I, focusing on the process, will be held on Jan. 19, 12-1 p.m., Thorn Conference Rooms B&C and Part II, focusing on financial aspects, will be held on Feb. 16, same time/location.
