Betsy Kay passed away on December 2 in the company of her friends and family after she was recently diagnosed with cancer. Kay was employed at BWH for more than 23 years. She began her career as an Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pain social worker and recently transitioned to the Multiple Sclerosis Center as a clinic social worker.
“Betsy was an astute clinician, vibrant about her life and her social work profession. She was honest, innovative and humorous. She cared for hundreds of patients with great compassion and understanding,” said her colleague Martha B. Burke.
Kay leaves behind her children, Amy and Kenny, her granddaughter, Julia and her mother and sister. Contributions in her honor can be made to any cancer charity.
