BWH Chairman Michael Bell met with members of the hospital’s medical staff on November 12 in an open meeting to provide input on the search for a new hospital president. The meeting took place after BWH President Jeffrey Otten publicly announced that he would be leaving the hospital after a successful tenure of nearly nine years. Both Otten and Bell were on hand to address questions about the search process and issues related to transition.
“Jeff has provided BWH with outstanding leadership during his presidency. The hospital is in strong and stable condition and I am comfortable with our ability to find someone in a timely manner to keep the momentum moving in the right direction,” said Bell, who will head the search committee. Bell also announced that he has asked Eugene Braunwald to serve as vice-chairman.
