BWH will conduct its second Staff Survey beginning September 4 and continuing throughout the month of September. The 2001 survey will serve as a follow-up to improvements that were initiated as a result of the BWH’s first ever Staff Survey in June 1999.
BWH and BWPO employees, physicians, volunteers and Partners employees who primarily support BWH are all invited to participate in the 2001 survey. The survey, which is confidential and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete, will be available in English, Spanish and French Creole. In addition, employees will also have the option of responding on-line this year.
The survey addresses overall staff satisfaction with questions specific to the hospital’s mission, vision and values. Staff are asked to indicate their level of agreement with statements concerning their perception of topics such as quality patient care, diversity, teaching excellence, customer focus, manager effectiveness, research leadership, and community benefit. There also will be open-ended questions, allowing for individual comments to be shared.
Staff can complete the survey on hospital time. Survey distribution plans are being developed and managers are encouraged to collaborate with their Human Resources generalist.
Results from this year’s survey will be available and shared with the hospital community at the beginning of 2002.
Questions regarding the survey can be directed to Martha Pyle Farrell, director of Operational Planning and Program Improvement, via email (mpfarrell@partners.org).
