Recognizing Customer Service
The General Medical Service Staff of the Quarter Award was developed as a way to recognize individuals who demonstrate a superior customer service approach when interacting with patients and family members on 14ABCD, 15C and the medical intensive care unit. Nominations are made by General Medicine staff and the winner is selected by a committee on a quarterly basis. The program is led by nurse managers Patricia Brita Rossi and Maureen Curley. The January 2001 recipient was presented to patient care assistant Joe Tinker and the May 2001 award winner was unit assistant Maria Debrito. “There has been a lot of excitement and interest surrounding the award,” said Robert Goldszer, MD, vice chair of Internal Medicine, General Medical Services, who organized this new award by applying to the Quality of Worklife Reward and Recognition Committee.
