“Twins: the Past, the Present, the Future, and Some Miracles I Have Seen at BWH” was the subject of the seventh annual Leonard Safon, MD, Lecture, given June 7 by Brigham and Women’s David Acker, MD, chief of Obstetrics. In his talk, delivered to an audience of staff, supporters and patients, Acker surveyed societal attitudes and beliefs about twins over the past three millennia, described advances in prenatal care, and introduced to his audience families whose healthy children he regards as BWH “miracles.” The Safon Lecture was endowed with contributions from grateful patients, friends and associates of longtime BWH obstetrician Leonard Safon, MD.
