Bigby Heads Center of Excellence
JudyAnn Bigby, MD, medical director of Community Health Programs at BWH, has been appointed the new director of the Harvard Medical School’s Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. Bigby oversees the Center’s continued efforts in collaborating with other Harvard-affiliated institutions to provide innovative approaches to patient care—with an emphasis on the health needs of minority women—as well as outreach, research and education programs that aim to advance care. In addition, the Center is focused on academic advancement of women faculty throughout Harvard-affiliated institutions.
“I look forward to advancing efforts that will make a substantial impact on the health of all women,” said Bigby. “The Center of Excellence provides us with an unique opportunity to strengthen and showcase the very best that all the HMS-affiliated institutions have to offer in meeting the needs of women faculty and patients.”
