On Friday, April 27, BWH’s internal telephone dialing plan converts from its current four-digit extensions to five-digit extensions. The project, due to go live on BWH’s main campus on April 27, will also change the internal dialing plan for 850 Boylston Street (live on May 11) and the DFCI (Smith building)/Staples (live on May 25) to five-digit extensions.
For example, telephone number 732-5555 will be dialed internally as ext. 2-5555. In addition, 525-5555 will become ext. 5-5555, and 278-5555 will become ext. 8-5555.
Internal extensions not accessible from outside of the hospital will also convert to five-digit extensions with a lead digit of 3. For example, the current extension 1234 will become ext. 3-1234.
Remaining training sessions are available, to which each department is encouraged to send a representative. Contact Jay Joseph Bennett, training coordinator, Partners Telecommuni-cations, at jbennett2@partners.org to sign up for a session.
Questions regarding the April 27 conversion should be directed to Anne Brosnan, project manager, Partners Telecommunications at ext. 7108.
