Schwartz Center Compassionate Caregiver Award
The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center is currently accepting nominations for its annual Compassionate Caregiver award. The award recognizes caregivers or teams who communicate well with patients by listening carefully, empathizing and instilling a sense of hope, attending to the patient’s physical and emotional needs and making them feel cared for and valued. The award will grant $5,000 to this year's winner(s). Any professional caregiver in Massachusetts is eligible. Nominations are encouraged from the community at large, from consumers to health care professionals, and are due on or before April 9. The winner will be announced at the Schwartz Center’s annual dinner in October 2001. The mission of the Schwartz Center, established in 1995 as an autonomous, non-profit organization, is to support compassionate health care and strengthen the relationship between patients and caregivers.
