Otten Named UHC Chairman
BWH President Jeffrey Otten has been named chairman of the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). The Consortium, which was founded in 1984, is an alliance of the clinical enterprises of academic health centers. Together, the Consortium members work to advance knowledge, foster collaboration and promote change to help members compete in their respective markets. As chairman, Otten’s responsibilities will include leading the efforts and meetings of UHC’s 85-member Board of Directors, comprised of CEOs of member hospitals, as well as its executive committee. “To serve in an organization as well-respected as the UHC is an incredible opportunity,” said Otten. “I look forward to contributing BWH’s standards of excellence to the Consortium, and in turn to contributing my own learning experience toward making our hospital a better care facility.”
