March 26, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Bornstein Amphitheater The forum will be dedicated to recommendations from the Staff Survey action teams and will feature BWH President Jeff Otten, Chief Medical Officer Andy Whittemore and Chief Operating Officer Matt Van Vranken. All BWH staff and employees are welcome to attend. Questions can be asked at the Town Meeting or pre-submitted through BWH Bulletin, the BWH intranet site at http://healthcare.partners.org/bwhintranet or by e-mailing the Public Affairs office at BWHBulletin@partners.org
JCAHO Laboratory Survey Dates
March 1-2 • March 5-9 • March 12-13 Hats Off to Boston Heart Walk Participants BWH employees are fighting cardiovascular disease and strokes inside and outside the hospital by raising over $10,000 in the Boston American Heart Walk. Joanne Hastings, Physician Services, raised $675 for the 10k walk. Ann Marie Barrett, Sarah Thompson, Lynn Ludwig, Carrie Grundleger, Roger Blanza, Marie Cadet, Kathy McManus, Marilou Barsam and Amy Casey each raised at least $250. Donations from the Walk benefit the American Heart Association’s cardiovascular research, public health education and community services in New England. BWH’s team was organized by BWH COO Matt Van Vranken, Marlene Freely, Laura Rossi and Kathy McManus. u
Schwartz Rounds
Thursday, March 1 11:30 a.m. Carrie M. Hall Conference Room This month’s Schwartz Rounds topic will be “Preserving Compassionate Care in the Multidisciplinary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.” Presenters will be Steven Ringer, MD, Gabriele Harrison, RN, Karen Riedel, RN, Gina Mungovan, RN, Linda Sorenson, RN and Arden Teplow, LCSW, MSW.
Benefit Time Cash-Out Forms Due March 16
Staff and employees eligible to cash out benefit time (minimum of 100 hours accrued in benefit time bank) must return forms to the Payroll Department by March 16. Cash-out forms will be distributed with the March 1 timesheets and paychecks. They should be signed by the staff member/employee’s supervisor and returned to the Payroll Office, Neville House, 3rd Floor. Checks will be distributed on March 23, or deposited into bank accounts for those with direct deposit.
Ash Wednesday Services
February 28 11 a.m.—Mass and distribution of ashes 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.—Ecumenical Service of ashes Ash Wednesday Services will be offered on February 28 in the Bornstein Amphitheater. All who wish to celebrate the beginning of the Lenten season of preparation for Easter are welcome to attend one of the following services:
