New Longitudinal Medical Record Implementations (LMR)
The LMR Team continues to implement the LMR application at many of the specialty practices at BWH. In FY03, an additional 109 physicians are slated to begin using the LMR as their ambulatory electronic medical record. These practices include:
- Breast Center
- Orthopedics
- Otolaryngology
- Brigham Medical Specialties - Renal
- Brigham Medical Specialties – Cardiology
- Dermatology
If you or your practice is interested in using the LMR as your ambulatory outpatient electronic record, contact Allison Benoit at abenoit@partners.org for further information.
(BOLD) Update on LMR Development Projects
Results Manager II – This functionality allows physicians to review all major tests ordered in the outpatient setting and provides ease to act on these results. It assists physicians in follow-up by making it easy to document that all results have been reviewed and ‘taken care of’. Results Manager II allows users to generate result letters to patients easily (including Spanish versions), and to set reminders for tests that need to be done in the future. It will also provide decision support when the results are reviewed and will highlight abnormal results so that physicians may choose to review them preferentially. This functionality is currently released to pilot sites, with a general release planned for September 2003.
Referral Management –
This functionality will support and streamline the communication process between the PCP, specialists, and the support staff. On-line referral communications will provide clinicians/practices an “at-a-glance” status of their referrals with such features as has the appointment been made and is there a visit note, as well as to provide automated communication of clinical information to the sub-specialist. A pilot is planned to start in the May 2003 timeframe with a general release in fall 2003.
