BWH Remains Committed to Patients with
Sleep Disorders
In
the wake of last month's closing of Sleep HealthCenters, Inc., an independent
company to which BWH previously outsourced sleep disorders consulting and
diagnostic services, BWH continues to be committed to the care of patients with
sleep disorders.
The
Departments of Medicine, Neurology and Psychiatry have a multi-disciplinary
Brigham and Women's Sleep Disorders Service, which is committed to providing
patients with timely access to high-quality sleep consultations, second
opinions, evaluations and management services, as well as coordination of sleep
testing and durable medical equipment services.
The
service specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the following
sleep-related conditions:
- Obstructive
Sleep Apnea
- Co-morbid
cardiovascular and cardio-metabolic disease
- Insomnia
- Narcolepsy
- Restless Leg
Syndrome
- Neurologic
complications of sleep, including movement disorders, behavioral
disturbances, epilepsy/seizure and stroke
- Other general
sleep disorders
