BWH Bulletin's year-end issue is a time to reflect on BWHers' proudest moments from the past year. We asked you to share one BWH-related memory from 2013 that was meaningful to you, and you generously offered stories about colleagues, patients, families, events and milestones that continue to inspire you. We hope you enjoy reading these moments.
My shining moment at BWH this year was the great care my mother received-in Shapiro from 9 West to the CCU-from the many doctors, nurses, aides and respiratory therapists. One therapist in particular, Marie Duggan, worked very hard with my mother on her breathing. She even was kind enough to bring my mother a lobster salad sandwich one day, which she knew my mother would love. It made her so happy.
My mother passed away on Sept. 27. She was an amazing, strong woman, who received the best care in a great hospital. I am so very proud to work here at BWH.
