What's Your One Shining Moment? As you reflect on 2013, is there one memory that makes you especially proud to call yourself a BWHer? BWH Bulletin encourages you to share your "One Shining Moment" with the Brigham community for our annual year-end issue on Dec. 20. Email your proudest BWH-related moment of 2013 and a related photo to BWHBulletin@partners.org by Dec. 13. Shining Moments will be posted on PikeNotes, and a selection will appear in the year-end print issue of Bulletin.
Welcome Winter Food Drive On Dec. 10, BWH will host a winter-themed kick-off event in the 75 Francis St. lobby to benefit the Parker Hill/Fenway ABCD Emergency Food Pantry in Mission Hill. The event will feature costumed polar bears, snow angels, snow faeries, a sleigh and more, and will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Collection boxes will also be placed at various locations throughout the hospital through Dec. 17. Beans, pasta, rice, cereal, soups, peanut butter, jelly and canned goods are most needed. Cash or check donations are also accepted.
June 2014 Tent Reservations Each June, many BWH departments hold events for which they need a large outdoor venue. Office Services and Food Services have partnered for a pilot program designed to improve the process for holding onsite events in the Cohn Courtyard Tent and hopefully save renting costs. They are proposing to rent a tent for the Cohn Courtyard for approximately one month and are now taking requests for June 2014 tent reservations via the Resource Scheduler online conference room booking system. Staff should include the word "TENT" in the title of event requests. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org to learn more.
Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes Would you like to improve your sleep and food habits, increase physical activity and manage stress? Pre-registration and payment are required by Dec. 15. Contact Laura Zanini at TLCregistration@partners.org to learn more.
Flu Vaccination Attestation deadline: Dec. 15 Employees are required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to document in PeopleSoft by Dec. 15 that they have received a vaccination or declined to be vaccinated. If you receive your vaccine through BWH Occupational Health clinics or the Peer-to-Peer program, this attestation will be automatically entered into PeopleSoft for you. All other employees must log in to PeopleSoft > HRMS Production > Self Service > Personal Information > Vaccinations to document when and where they received flu vaccine, or that they have declined to be vaccinated.
