A United Way Flashback
On March 21, 1984, United Way campaign staff associate Amanda Annis visited the hospital to present H. Richard Nesson, MD, then-BWH president, and Alan Kaul, PharmD, MBA, FCCP, former director of Pharmacy Services and chairman of the hospital's 1984 campaign, with an award for outstanding results. Annis brought the good news that BWH's contributions totaled $62,557 for the 1984 campaign, a 28 percent increase from 1983.
Nearly three decades later, United Way depends on the kindness and generosity of donors more than ever. When you make a donation, you can choose to direct it to one of almost 200 agencies in the local community that United Way supports, including nearby YMCAs and YWCAs, the Salvation Army, science clubs for youth, support programs, schools, homeless shelters and more. You can make a meaningful impact in our community by choosing a cause near and dear to your heart and helping BWH reach its fundraising goal of $200,000 this year.
