All materials and instructions are provided, and there is no prep work involved for the volunteers. You do not need to be an expert in science-just enthusiastic about science and working with kids. You can sign up individually or as a pair with a friend. Contact paudeh@partners.org or 617-264-8740 for more details.
Be A Part of History At the close of our BluePrint celebration, BWH will seal a time capsule to be opened in 2063, and we want your ideas for what to include. We are crowd-sourcing Brigham-themed stories, photos and item ideas that will represent all aspects of BWH, including work in the mission areas of patient care, research, education and community outreach. Whether it's about a memorable BWH event or everyday hospital life, let your voice be heard. We invite you to share your ideas on camera with Communication & Public Affairs at an information table on the second-floor mezzanine by the Shop on the Pike, Oct. 31, 1-2 p.m.
Second Annual BWH Research Day BWH Research Day is a way to engage the hospital community and public with the innovative, cutting-edge research that happens here every day. The second annual Research Day will feature a variety of speakers, presentations, panels, posters and more, all day across the hospital, Nov. 21. Register to attend. As part of Research Day, BWH faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to vote for their favorite BRIght Futures Prize research project. Polls will remain open until Nov. 21, and the winner will be determined by public voting and announced during closing ceremonies at Research Day.
Costs of Care Contest BWH is collaborating with the nonprofit organization Costs of Care on a call for essays that illustrate the importance of cost-awareness in health care. Do you have a story about a time that you figured out a way to deliver or receive better care at a lower cost? Or a time when you wanted to know how much a medical test or treatment might cost? Share your stories and be eligible for a prize. The deadline is Dec. 1. Visit costsofcare.org/advocacy/essay to learn more.
