Trauma-Informed Care Conference
A Partners-wide symposium about the treatment of interpersonal violence will be held Oct. 24, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., in Bornstein Amphitheater. The conference will feature keynote speaker Carole Warshaw, MD, of the National Center on Domestic Violence, along with a panel of clinicians from across Partners. PA Recognition Event During National Physician Assistant Recognition Week, Oct. 6-12, BWH will honor physician assistants Laurel Taylor, PA-C, and Danielle Bowers, PA-C, and the contributions of all PAs at the annual PA Recognition event, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m., in the Shapiro Center lobby.
Second BWH Research Day BWH Research Day is a way to engage the hospital community, as well as the public, with the innovative, cutting-edge research that happens here every day. The second annual Research Day will feature a variety of speakers, presentations, panels, posters and more, all day across the hospital, Nov. 21. As part of Research Day, BWH faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to vote for their favorite BRIght Futures Prize research project by visiting bwhresearchday.partners.org. Polls will remain open until Nov. 21, and the winner will be determined by public voting and announced during closing ceremonies at Research Day.
PA Services Grant Physician assistants across our campus are dedicated to improving health care not only in our local community but throughout the world. A new PA Services grant is intended to support PAs committed to providing health care, health education and health research to medically underserved populations. The travel stipend of $2,000 will be awarded to two PAs each fiscal year and is open to full-time BWH and BWFH PAs. Employee Flu Vaccination BWH Occupational Health's distributed campus flu clinic schedule is available on BWHPikeNotes.org. Flu vaccine is available in the OHS Neville Clinic Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Employees are required to document in PeopleSoft that they have received flu vaccine or declined it. If you receive your vaccine through Occupational Health clinics or the Peer-to-Peer program, this will be entered into PeopleSoft for you. All other employees must log in to document when and where you received flu vaccine or that you have declined.
Office Ergonomics Training Partners Occupational Health Service Ergonomics is holding the next Office Ergonomics training session Oct. 15, 9 a.m.-noon, in the Shapiro Breakout Room. This training is ideal for individuals with an interest in becoming their department's expert in office ergonomics or anyone interested in healthy computing. Space is limited.
