Men Needed for "Beard" Study
Whatever your facial hair style-clean-shaven, light scruff or heavy beard-you may be eligible to participate in the new "Beard" Study and have a chance to win Red Sox vs. Yankees tickets for the Aug. 16 game. The BWH Center for Surgery and Public Health is seeking 400 male employees who directly interact with patients for a study about whether hospital workers' facial hair carry bacteria. Samples will be collected by swabbing participants' facial hair and performing a quick and painless scratch test. To enroll, stop by the table opposite the Shop on the Pike Mondays through Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-noon. Learn more at BWHPikeNotes.org.
