Weighing in at 220 pounds and stretching 10 feet in length, the Time Capsule Tuesday cake was the largest in BWH history.
Prepared by Food Services’ Catering Manager Patricia Gleason-Claydon, RD, and Jeremias Perez (right), the cake’s bottom and second tiers were each made of 18 smaller cakes (two cakes in depth and nine in width).
More than 120 pounds of vanilla frosting were whipped up and added to the cake. The smaller top tier, proudly displaying the BluePrint logo, was specially made by Montilio’s Bakery and placed on the cake just before the Time Capsule Tuesday reception.
Within an hour, not a slice was left; however, ever prepared, Food Services had made a smaller, extra cake just in case it was needed.
