Lown Award Nominations
The Bernard Lown Award for Excellence in Teaching at BWH celebrates physicians who are outstanding clinical teachers. The deadline to complete this year’s nominations is April 1. The winner of the Lown Teaching Award will be announced at the 2013 Daniel D. Federman Teaching Awards Celebration on May 6. Open Forum with Leadership
Chief Medical Officer Stanley W. Ashley, MD; BWPO Chief Medical Officer Jessica Dudley, MD; and Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services Jackie Somerville, RN, PhD, host the next Changing Landscape in Healthcare open forum, March 27, 5-6 p.m., in the Bornstein Amphitheater. The open forum is a unique opportunity to provide input and ask questions of senior hospital leadership.
Partners IS Updates & Survey
Some exciting new changes are underway at Partners Information Systems (IS). In addition to the recent mobile device security updates, Partners IS is spreading the word about the “SavePower!” energy savings program, Enterprise Vault and the rollout of Windows 7 at BWH. Backup Child Care Center
April Vacation Club at the BWH Backup Child Care Center is just around the corner, with registration opening March 18. Club week runs April 15-19, and is open to children 5-12 years old. Cost is $60-per-day or $275 for the week. For more information, call Sarah Towle at 617-732-9543.
A Discussion About Skin Cancer
Vinod Nambudiri, MD, MBA, of the departments of Medicine and Dermatology, will discuss preventing and treating skin cancer, the most common of all cancers, March 20, noon-1 p.m., in the Kessler Library. Participants will gain a better understanding of skin cancer and an action plan for prevention. Patients, visitors, volunteers and staff are all welcome.
