BWH’s Office of the President welcomed Trishia S. Lichauco as chief of staff, a newly created position, in July.
“In this new role, Trishia will provide another gateway for staff across the organization to find new ways to mobilize around our values of quality care for patients and families, research leadership, teamwork and teaching excellence,” said BWH President Betsy Nabel, MD. “She welcomes the opportunity to work with employees at all levels to help us achieve our goals as an institution.”
As chief of staff, Lichauco is responsible for the central coordination of operations in the President’s Office, planning for key committee and board meetings and ensuring that information flows to and from the office, among other responsibilities.
“The Brigham enjoys a wonderful reputation, and I am excited to be part of such a compassionate environment that is so resolute in its mission,” said Lichauco. “I look forward to meeting and collaborating with the Brigham’s many talented and dedicated employees.”
Lichauco brings a wealth of experience in the academic and nonprofit sectors. She most recently served as assistant to the president and secretary to the Board of Trustees at Wheaton College. Fluent in English, Spanish, German and Tagalog (spoken in the Philippines), Lichauco also co-chaired the Wheaton College president’s committee on diversity, helping people to understand and appreciate differences.
Prior to that, she held positions as associate director of the career education center at Simmons College and sponsorship and acquisitions manager for WGBH Auction and WGBH Educational Foundation. Raised in the Philippines, Lichauco and her sister established a bookstore in Manila for wholesale and retail sales of imported children’s and music books.
Lichauco earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wheaton College. She is a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education and also serves on the executive board of directors for the Massachusetts ACE Office of Women in Higher Education.
