The BRI Cancer Research Center hosted its annual cancer research competition on Oct. 13, drawing posters from 55 BWH cancer researchers. The event, held in the Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, showcased some of the most innovative and novel cancer research done at the BWH, with six authors winning $1,000 prizes.
“The BRI Cancer research center has been quite successful at bringing together researchers across BWH interested in all aspects of cancer research,” said Jon Aster, MD, PhD, co-chair of the BRI Cancer Research Center. “The impressive breadth and quality of BWH cancer research were showcased at this well attended event. Moving forward, the center plans to continue to build momentum in our areas of greatest strength.”
Participants included researchers up to the assistant professor level conducting any type of cancer-related research. Winning posters were judged on novelty, significance/impact and presentation.
