Clad in bright red T-shirts, nearly 200 BWHers, friends and family turned out on Saturday morning to support the fight against heart disease.
BWH team members were among 15,000 other walkers—the most ever—at the 2008 Boston Heart Walk on the Charles River Esplanade to raise money for cardiovascular research, advocacy and education.
“Thank you to all those who walked or supported the team,” said Elizabeth Eagan-Bengston, RN, assistant nurse manager of Shapiro 9 and 10, who led the team along with co-captain Lisa Preston, RN.
The BWH team is close to reaching its goal of raising $50,000 for the American Heart Association. There’s still time to support the team at http://heartwalk.kintera.org/bostonma/bwh
