Attention LMA Parkers:
To help employees who park in Longwood Medical Area lots save money on gas and avoid the hassle of rush hour traffic, MASCO will begin offering a new coach bus from Woburn next month.
Beginning Oct. 6, BWH employees who park at Longwood Medical Area lots can put their spots on hold and try out the shuttle bus—equipped with WiFi and bathrooms—for free for three months. During this time, employees will not pay for their LMA parking spots.
“If at any time you want to stop taking the shuttle and resume driving in and parking, you can reclaim your parking spot and begin paying for it again,” said Robert Chicarello, director of Security and Parking for BWH. “ We hope folks who drive to work from north of the city now will take advantage of this new shuttle, helping us to free up parking spots and decrease the traffic in and around the LMA.”
After the free three-month trial, riders who wish to continue taking the bus in January will register for a pass from BWH and begin paying a rate for the shuttle that is less than the cost of their current parking spot. To accommodate the needs of the occasional driver, this program also enables registered shuttle riders the opportunity to drive to the Longwood Medical Area two times per month and park at a MASCO facility in the Fenway area for free with a day pass.
Visit www.masco.org/woburnshuttle for drop-off and pick-up times. The shuttle stops at the Anderson Regional Transportation Center in Woburn and on Avenue Louis Pasteur in the LMA. The cost to park at Anderson Regional is $2 per day.
To sign up to trial the shuttle, contact the BWH Parking Office.
