Starting Monday, April 14, all hospital staff can use one number (ext. 2-7114) to reach Patient Transport, Television Support, Environmental Services, Materials Management and Engineering.
A dispatcher will receive calls made to ext. 2-7114 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and transfer callers to the appropriate service, and during overnight hours, callers can connect through an automated, touch-tone system. Existing phone numbers will not change, but using this new extension means staff will have to know only one number.
“This will make it easier for staff who need assistance,” said Jennifer Nadelson, administrative director of Support Services. “The new extension allows us to triage phone calls from hospital staff through one central location instead of asking staff to refer to a list of different numbers to call.”
