More than a hundred BWHers, friends and patients turned out for last Saturday’s Boston Heart Walk, despite the rain showers and gloomy weather. So far, the BWH team—which is comprised of smaller teams from departments across the hospital—has raised more than $34,000 for the American Heart Association, and the donations are still coming in.
“Thanks to all of our walkers and all those who supported the BWH team,” said team captain Scott Taylor, of IS, who worked with co-captains Maryellen Cotter and Elizabeth Eagan-Bengston to organize the BWH team.
The BWH team members were among more than 10,000 walkers who participated in the event. The money raised supports cardiovascular research, advocacy and education at Boston hospitals, including BWH.
